22 Forest Drive, Lytham, FY8 4QF
22 Forest Drive has given us an opportunity to breath new life into a dated detached property. These type of houses, constructed by Costain in the 60's, were well made and have stood up to the rigours of the Fylde Coast weather, but sadly this house had not benefited from cosmetic improvement over the years.
Our approach to this property has been a little different to previous projects, in that we have sought to be kinder to the environment, with our attitude towards waste and redevelopment. We have tried, wherever possible, to think of ways to improve the house without resorting to simply ripping out and replacing. By thoughtfully restoring and updating existing fittings, such as radiators and window frames for example, we have been able to avoid some of the needless waste associated with property development. Coupled with existing 'green' features, such as solar panels, cavity wall insulation and the latest energy efficient appliances and fittings, make this property an attractive choice for those looking for a greener housing option.
2018 - St Ann'es Road East
46 St Anne's Road East, St Anne's
46 St Anne's Road East was a bold step forward for urban start. Configured as a ground floor and 1st floor flat, this imposing and very impressive former 'executive home' offered huge amounts of space and renovation potential. By removing false partitions, erected when the property was previously converted into flats, we brought light and airiness back to this well constructed and spacious period home.
We carefully designed new improvements to the layout of this property to suit the needs of modern open-plan living, including a contemporary kitchen, the addition of 2 en-suite bathrooms and a media/sitting room. We also added private off-street parking, contemporary features such as aluminium bi-fold doors and smart LED lighting. This house is the perfect fit for the discerning buyer with a growing family and desire for contemporary living.
2016 - Riley Avenue
Riley Avenue, Lytham St Anne's
30 Riley Avenue, was a step back into the familiar territory of a Victorian house renovation project for urban start. Occupying an almost identical footprint as 'The Grove' renovation in Lytham, Riley Avenue offered up the same enormous potential for improvement, with a few unique touches up it's sleeve.
The huge bay windows delivered fabulous views of the Fylde coastline and the tall ceilings, with period coving details, produced dramatic, light and airy spaces. As usual we added our trademark sleek kitchen and bathrooms, and wherever possible we sympathetically restored the Victorian charm of this beautifully detailed period property.
2014 - Victoria Road
Victoria Rd, Irlam, Manchester
Completed in 2015, our first new build project was the culmination of 5 years in the planning and 18 months of careful construction. The end result reflected the painstaking attention to detail and effort put into this first ambitious new build project.
The properties were designed and built by urban start homes.
